To survive the darkest moments of my youth, I built worlds to escape to. Like so many others, that tactic shaped itself into the foundation of my creativity, writing, music, etc. As a black queer in an oppressive world, I harnessed my burning desire to exist with absolute sovereignty and put that into my art. 

And so, as a writer, my interest in the fantasy genre inevitably blossomed into exploring what it would look like if it could escape the clutches of mandatory whiteness and straightness. That exploration has culminated into the Xeraxia series.

As the owner of the AdrianXpression and Avatar Adrian brands, I’ve built an online presence from the ground up, examining these kinds of topics. My presence is mainly on YouTube where my work has been viewed tens of millions of times over. I use a mix of entertainment and discussion to present topics like politics, pop culture, and current events to netizens everywhere. 

I hold a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Professional Communication and call upon my passion for both subject areas to fuel my ongoing efforts.
